Cynthia Gire has spent most of her career working in international development, health, and foreign policy. Ms. Gire has worked as Director for Planning at the National Security Council, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Administrator at USAID and as the Chief of Staff to the Ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia. She has served at the U.S. Department of State as the Chief of Sports Diplomacy programming in Washington, DC, and as the Director of the Asia and Pacific Media Hub in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Earlier in her career, Ms. Gire worked as an International Development Program Officer for the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and for Family Health International. Ms. Gire graduated from the University of California at Davis, with a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. She received her Master’s degree from George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.
